Innokin Z Coils — Pack of 5
Genuine Innokin Z replacement coils, five per pack, in three versions: 0.5 Ω Plexus mesh, 0.8 Ω and 1.6 Ω kanthal. All fit the same tanks — pick by how you want to vape.
Which tanks do these fit?
- Innokin Zenith and Zenith Pro
- Innokin Zlide and Zlide Top
These are the Z-series coils. Innokin uses several different coil families across its range, so check what your tank currently takes — a Prism, T18E or JEM coil will not fit a Zenith.
Which resistance and what wattage?
| Coil | Wattage | Draw | Best with |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.6 Ω | 10-14 W | Tightest, coolest | 20 mg nic salts |
| 0.8 Ω | 15-18 W | Warmer, more vapour | 50/50 at 6-12 mg, or 10 mg salts |
| 0.5 Ω Plexus | 14-19 W | Loosest, most vapour | 50/50 or 70/30 at 3-6 mg |
Coming straight off cigarettes? The 1.6 Ω. Want more from the same tank? The 0.8 Ω. Want the most flavour and vapour the Zenith can give? The 0.5 Ω Plexus.
What does "Plexus" mean?
Plexus is Innokin's mesh coil technology. Instead of a wire wrapped in a spiral, the heating element is a flat mesh strip.
Mesh has a larger surface area touching the cotton, so it heats faster and more evenly. In practice that means a quicker ramp-up, more intense flavour and noticeably more vapour than a standard wire coil at the same power.
The trade-off is coil life and liquid consumption — mesh wears out sooner and gets through e-liquid faster. If you want maximum flavour, take the Plexus. If you want the coil to last, take the 1.6 Ω.
Fitting a new coil
- Empty the tank before changing the coil
- Unscrew the used coil from the tank base
- Screw the new one in finger-tight — don't overtighten
- Drip e-liquid onto the exposed cotton until it darkens
- Fill the tank and wait 5-10 minutes before the first puff
FAQ
How long does a Z coil last?
Two to three weeks for the 1.6 Ω and 0.8 Ω. The 0.5 Ω Plexus runs hotter and typically lasts one to two weeks. Sweetened e-liquids shorten all of them.
Can I use nic salts with the 0.5 Ω Plexus?
Not recommended. At 19 W with mesh you produce a lot of vapour, and 20 mg salts would deliver far too much nicotine. Use the 1.6 Ω for salts.
Why is my tank leaking?
Usually an under-tightened coil or e-liquid that's too thin. Check the coil is seated properly and use 50/50 rather than high-PG.
Why does a new coil taste burnt?
Priming. The cotton must be saturated before the first puff — drip liquid directly onto it and give it ten minutes.
What e-liquid should I use?
50/50 PG/VG for the 0.8 Ω and 1.6 Ω. The 0.5 Ω Plexus handles 70/30 well if you want more vapour.
